Mission Statement

We, the people of Northwest University, carry the call of God by continually building a learning community dedicated to spiritual vitality, academic excellence, and empowered engagement with human need.

Northwest University’s Vision and Core Values

Northwest University is guided by a vision focused on carrying God’s call through the heart, head and hand. This vision is strengthened through the University’s focus on core values that speak to the Christian learner and are derived from the University’s affiliation with the Assemblies of God. These values also correlate to Northwest University’s founding mission:

Northwest University has been driven by its mission to build a learning community dedicated to spiritual vitality, academic excellence and empowered engagement with human need since its founding and opening in 1934 by the Northwest Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God. It has since grown to become a regionally accredited, Christian coeducation institution that awards associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees for both on-campus and online programs, which allows it to continuously meet the needs of all Christian learners.

The University is operated under the control of the Alaska, Montana, Oregon, Northwest and Southern Idaho as well as Wyoming districts of the Assemblies of God. Each district is represented on the University’s board of directors.

Northwest University graduates continue carry many of the Christian principles and practices that were gained or strengthened through their course of study into their professional and personal lives.

Northwest University’s Online Programs

Northwest University has expanded its academic reach to including online programs that help make advanced education more accessible for every learner. Students can choose among a variety of bachelor’s, master’s and certificate programs to meet their academic and career goals. Online programs that are now being offered online include the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
  • Master in Ministry
  • Certificate in Ministry Leadership

Online Course Access

Northwest University hosts its online degree programs through Moodle. Current students of Northwest University Online can log on to their courses through the University’s Moodle portal, where they will be able to engage in your courses, participate in group discussion, complete coursework and more.

Online Academic Advisor

Northwest University connects online students with an academic advisor for extra guidance and support. Contact your advisor for scheduling assistance, course information, technical support and more information about Northwest University Online.

Accreditation

Northwest University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and is a Christian coeducational institution awarding associate, baccalaureate and master’s degrees. Northwest University is endorsed by the Commission on Christian Higher Education of the Assemblies of God and the Association of Christian Schools International.

Northwest University’s online MBA program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs.
